Scholar/Writer Bio
Kevin Anglade is a scholar, poet, musician, educator, and writer from Queens, New York. His research interests are centered upon Maroon Culture, Afrocentric Education, Black Masculinity, and African American Culture. Anglade holds both B.A. & M.A. degrees in English from the City University of New York (CUNY Brooklyn & CUNY Queens). As an educator, Anglade taught English Language Arts in Hartford Public Schools as a 2017 Teach For America Connecticut Corps Member. He is currently a PhD student in the Department of Africology & African American Studies at Temple University and is also the author of the 2021 poetry collection, A Flower That Rose. Kevin Anglade (K.A.) in addition to being a rapper, is a singer, songwriter, and producer from Queens, New York. Kevin started rapping at the age of 11 when he would freestyle alongside of/battle rap his peers in middle school cafeteria cyphers. Following this, he honed his pen game over the years and complimented it with his tenor register to become a Hip-Hop/R&B hybrid. Now a producer, Kevin writes his own music and produces for both himself and various acts. His debut album, Cries Of A Rose is available now via FCS Recordings.
